AI-Augmented Creative Practice

I use AI as a creative accelerator, not a shortcut.

Across character design, narrative projects, brand imagery, and video, I combine AI tools with traditional art direction, design judgement, and post-production polish.

Each project below demonstrates how AI can be directed, constrained, and refined to achieve production-ready outcomes, rather than relying on single-prompt generation.

AI CHARACTER ANIMATION

From Character System to Production-Ready Video

This project explores how AI can be used as a directed creative tool rather than a one-prompt solution.

The final animation was created through a multi-stage workflow combining character design, AI video generation, manual art direction, compositing, and frame-level post-production.

While AI was used to accelerate motion and exploration, the final result required human judgement to control consistency, physical states, and visual quality.

  • Current AI video tools struggle with complex object interaction, irreversible deformation, and maintaining physical states across frames. A single AI prompt could not achieve the desired outcome.

  • Midjourney → Nano Banana → Photoshop → Canva → Video

    • Character system designed in Midjourney
    • Motion and performance generated via multiple Nano Banana video passes
    • Final physical states manually art-directed in Photoshop
    • Clips composited and refined through frame-level editing
    • Combine the video in Canva

  • This project established a repeatable internal workflow for character-based AI video creation. The full process is documented below.

What this demonstrates

• AI art direction and prompt engineering
• Multi-tool orchestration
• Understanding of AI limitations
• Manual post-production polish
• Production-ready delivery

AI-Assisted Children’s Book

This project explores the use of AI in long-form, emotionally sensitive storytelling, where consistency, tone, and intent matter more than speed or novelty.

The children’s book was developed using a combination of AI-assisted writing, illustration exploration, and manual refinement to support a warm, reassuring narrative for young readers.

AI was used as a creative support tool throughout the process, while final decisions around story, pacing, and visual continuity remained human-led.

  • Long-form children’s content requires emotional intelligence, character continuity, and visual coherence across multiple pages - areas where uncontrolled AI output quickly falls apart. My nephew showed symptoms of OCD regarding smell and I wanted to help him understand how it works through visual storytelling.

  • ChatGPT → Midjourney → Nano Banana Pro → Photoshop → Layout

    • Narrative structure and tone developed through AI-assisted drafting and manual editing
    • Illustration concepts generated iteratively with controlled prompts
    • Characters and environments refined in Photoshop for page-to-page consistency
    • Visual pacing and emotional beats carefully art-directed
